A: Ultrasonic cleaners are primarily used for the purpose of cleaning items, not sterilizing them. However, a sterilizing solution can be used in combination with an ultrasonic cleaner in order to properly sterilize items. iSonic does not provide a specific solution for this purpose, so you must purchase one from an outside source.
A: Our new model DS180-B runs on DC12V with a rechargeable battery. It's the first ultrasonic cleaner running on DC power and surpasses 20W. It's 25W, 36-41K sweeping frequencies, and uses full wave ultrasound. Most of our personal ultrasonic cleaners uses half wave ultrasound. That alone, doubles the cleaning efficiency. However, be aware that there are cleaners on the market running on two or three AA or AAA batteries and are even claimed by the vendors as ultrasonic cleaners. AA or AAA batteries do not generate ultrasound at all. They are vibrators running on a tiny cam to vibrate the plastic bowl.

A: Solid metal usually cleans well in an ultrasonic cleaner. Soft stones, oil treated and color treated stones are not recommended for use in an ultrasonic cleaner. Soft stones are not structurally strong and may have internal cracks, which will not allow them to stand up well against the ultrasonic cleaners high frequency. For these reasons, turquoise is not recommended; however, agate and onyx should be ok if there are not cracks in the stone.
A: Yes, it should. However, if your sterling silver has tarnish, regular ultrasonic cleaning solutions will not remove the tarnish. Try using iSonic Ultrasonic Tarnish Remover to fully restore the sterling silver.
A: Yes. The plastic tray provided with the F3900 is supplied to prevent scratching when cleaning jewelry. It is important to thoroughly clean the F3900's tank after cleaning jewelry, so be sure to keep that in mind.
A: Steeping e-liquid cannot be done in one of our personal ultrasonic cleaners. We recommend using the iSonic P4810 or another larger, professional ultrasonic cleaner. The personal models do not include a cooling fan, and thus cannot run for long periods of time without overheating. The P4810 can run for 30 minutes continuously without overheating; however, be sure to allow your cleaner to cool for about 10 minutes between every 30 minute cycle. The larger, professional ultrasonic cleaners provided by iSonic are also made with stacked transducers, which are twice as powerful compared to the wafer transducers found in the small personal models.
A: Yes, all iSonic Ultrasonic Cleaners featuring a heater turn off automatically upon reaching the set temperature. As a safety feature, the heater also turns off automatically after certain time.
A: If you need a heater, you may try the larger, professional models such as the iSonic P4810 which is the smallest model with a heater. In addition to including a heater, this model also has a larger tank size and a stronger, more powerful stack transducer. The smaller models will raise the temperature of the water in the ultrasonic cleaner's tank by a few degrees, but they do not include a heater as an extra feature.

A: P4820 can be used in a laboratory setting. The temperature for the heater is preset at 60/65C and the heater turns off once it reaches this set temperature. iSonic provides several larger models with 3 or 5 temperature settings suitable for labs a 30-minute timer. These are P4831, P4861, P4862, and P4875 models. They are more suitable for lab uses and have multiple optional accessories to deal with various situations.
A: Yes; however, if your dental appliances have stains or buildups, tap water alone will not be able to remove them. We recommend using cleaning powder, solution, or a tablet. For example, iSonic White Denture Cleaning Crystal is great for removing buildup and stains.
A: Yes, but only clean a few coins at a time. If you need to clean large quantities of coins, try using one of the larger models, such as the iSonic P4810. Not only does this model have a larger tank size, but it also has a powerful and more durable transducer.
A: At least 10 cycles. Once the water is too dirty, you probably do not want to continue to use the same solution, although it may still be effective. The solution is a concentrate, be sure to dilute it with water (about 1 capful to 2 cups of water).
A: Yes the iSonic F3900 can be used to clean soft liners, provided the soft liners have solid bonding. However, you should not use denture tablets or iSonic White Denture Cleaning Powder to clean soft liners. Instead, use tap water or a small amount of mouth wash when cleaning soft liners in any iSonic device.
A: Yes, you can definitely clean silverware in an ultrasonic cleaner. We recommend using one of our professional models such as the P4820 or larger. You may use the heater function as well, to achieve better results. If you need to remove silver tarnish from silverware, you must use iSonic Ultrasonic Silver Tarnish Remover to do so. We also recommend using a beaker or a plastic cup when using iSonic Ultrasonic Silver Tarnish Remover in any of our ultrasonic cleaners, as this particular solution will create a dull coating on the cleaner's stainless steel tank.
A: iSonic does not recommend using a mason jar in place of a glass beaker as it can dampen the ultrasonic frequency and prevent you from achieving satisfactory results. A glass beaker is thin enough to allow the ultrasonic frequency to penetrate with enough strength to thoroughly clean your item. A thin plastic cup will also suffice. Ideally, you want to use a beaker holder as well, so as to prevent the weight of the beaker from effecting the performace of the ultrasonic cleaner's transducer. By placing the beaker directly into the tank, without a beaker holder, the beaker is sitting directly on top of the transducer and will prevent the transducer from providing optimal performance. iSonic provides several beaker holding attachments, which work with a variety of the larger models.
